It appears that the recent signee of Rufftown records, Wendy Shay is getting acquaintance with the corridors of power so early. To the best of my knowledge, none of the existing female artists have gotten such a juicy opportunity to rub shoulders with thecrème de la crème of Ghana politics.
Wendy Shay recently met the Minister of Education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh aka Napo not long ago. But surprisingly, upon the busy schedules of the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, he was able to meet the new artist.
GhanaNews.xyz cannot provide a vivid information about her meeting with President Akufo-Addo. However, what caught our attention is the inscription on the photo she posted on her Instagram account. Wendy Shay nicknamed President Akufo-Addo as the Chief Uber Driver of Ghana who also likes ‘watching women’, thus, taking a cue from her single, Uber Driver.
Wendy Shay wrote: ‘Great meeting with the Chief Uber Driver of Ghana #even Nana Addo nso p3hw3’.
Wendy Shay came to the scene after the demise of Ebony Reigns. She was unveiled by the CEO of Rufftown records, Ricky Osei Agyemang popularly known as Bullet, as a proxy for the late Dancehall queen, Ebony Reigns.
After the untimely demise of Ebony Reigns, the ‘sponsor’ hitmaker, some fans were contemplating on a replaceable female musician with similar attributes like Ebony Reigns to continue with her legacy left behind in the music industry.
Bullet in a series of posts unveiled the new female artiste to his followers on Facebook. Asked by fans if Wendy was to replace Ebony, bullet said: “her name is Wendy shay, beauty with talent, versatile and different.”
Bullet said Wendy was not here to replace Ebony reigns as being speculated. “Ebony Reigns is irreplaceable!” he added.
Bullet wrote, “her name is Wendy Shay, beauty with talent, versatile and different.she is not here to replace my queen ebony reigns as been speculated.ebony reigns is irreplaceable!”.
